transcribing paradox

I do appreciate the talkative participant, they have so much great content to share and make a significant contribution to the database. However, when they have a speech habit of starting and stopping, and continuously interrupting themselves to embellish an obscure side topic of the point they are making, it gets really tiring staying on task with transcribing.

The next time I do this, I will remember to pose short questions and seek short answers. That way, unexpected, useful data coming up through the interview process will result in medium long texts to transcribe instead of interminably long texts to transcribe. And still have great information collected.
