There is a new combination of competencies that are needed for success across all fields. In fact, probably in life. These are a combination of both content knowledge competencies, ie. having a good depth or breadth of knowledge about an area or topic, but also have technological competency to support sharing that knowledge. This technological competency has to go beyond being able to turn on a computer and fire up a word processor. It is a multi-faceted set of competencies that include being able to figure out what to do if the computer won’t turn on or the software doesn’t appear as expected.
